Cycling Course Introduction: After renting a bicycle at Iwana no Sato, head along the village roads surrounded by greenery towards National Route 399. On a sunny day, sunlight filters through the trees, making for a pleasant cycling experience. Once you reach National Route 399, turn left towards Iwaki. Kawauchi Village is famous for its delicious soba noodles, and we recommend the soba-shubo Tenzan restaurant for its tasty 100% buckwheat soba for lunch. The
Kawauchi Village specialty goods market, Are-Kore Ichiba, is located next to the arrival port, Kawauchi no Yu, making it a recommended stop.
Other places to visit: Café Amazon, Naturadistill Kawauchi Village Distillery.
Distance: Approximately 4km.
Time: Approximately 25 minutes (depending on stopover time).
Cycling Course Introduction: Turn left at Kawauchi no Yu hot spring and head towards Furukumayama Fudo Falls via Prefectural Road 36. In spring, you might be able to pass under a beautiful row of cherry trees. Take a break at Furukumayama Fudo Falls and enjoy the refreshing view of the waterfall. In early summer, you can see the mysterious eggs of the Japanese tree frog at Hirafushi Marsh, which is designated as a national natural monument as a breeding ground for the Japanese tree frog. In autumn, head north through the trees with beautiful autumn foliage, and head towards Takatsuka Plateau while viewing wind turbines for wind power generation on your left. The second half of the course from Takatsuka Plateau is downhill. Cut through the wind and enjoy the rural scenery of Kawauchi Village.
Other places to stop: Sen'o River
Distance: Approximately 39km
Time: Approximately 130 minutes one way (depending on the time spent stopping)
